Another dream of mine will come true – Snootchie Bootchies!

If you’ve known me long enough, you know that I have had a love for Jay and Silent Bob for many years – almost as long as the Backstreet Boys.

When I was a video major in college, Kevin Smith was my film hero. The small films I made in school were very much in the same realm as “Dogma” or “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.”

A few years ago, I got to see Kevin live in person and said hey to him briefly as he walked by me.

Well, this November, I have another dream of mine coming true – I’m going to meet and take my picture with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, better known as Jay and Silent Bob. They are going on a tour to promote their new movie, “Jay and Silent Bob: Reboot.”

Here’s the trailer that came out this week. Beware of language and raunchy language.

“Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” is one of my all-time favorite movies. The same characters have been in almost ALL of Kevin’s movies, including “Dogma,” “Chasing Amy,” “Mallrats,” “Clerks,” “Clerks II,” and more. For some reason, I love stoner movies even though I have never done drugs or drink alcohol (unless Nick Carter feeds it to me). I started fangirling around my office yesterday, holding my Silent Bob bobblehead that Hannah got me for my birthday a few years ago.

Here’s the trailer for the original movie:

To me, this is on the level of meeting Garth Brooks. It probably won’t hit me really until after it happens, but getting to meet Kevin and Jason is something I really never thought would happen. I find it so awesome that they are using Wonderful Union (the same company that handles Backstreet Boys’ VIP events and fan club) for this tour that they are doing. I have second row center for the event and I legit don’t know if I’m going to be able to contain myself with going alone.

To me, these are the moments that I never thought would happen and never would have happened if I stayed in my small hometown. I wouldn’t have known and became close to so many of my friends. I would not have this job that I love. I wouldn’t be alive possibly because even though I was out of that huge depression, I was still heavily battling it before I left home.

So many crazy things have happened this past year from leaving the newspaper/media industry to winning a prize trip to go to Vegas to see the boys, going back to Vegas to celebrate my best friend’s birthday, going to Texas for a work trip, heading to Washington, D.C., to see such historic things such as the White House and the Washington Monument, Lisa coming over to stay with me for almost two weeks next month and me, her and Julia finally seeing a BSB show together, and now seeing and meeting Jay and Silent Bob. Not to mention the professional stuff lately. It’s just …

I have never been as happy as I am right now. I just had the best birthday ever last Friday with the boys and a few of my girls and seeing so many friends that surprised me by showing up in D.C.

When things go good like this, I get scared something bad is going to happen. It’s just the devil in me or something because it seems like when something is going good, something bad happens.

But I’m going to meet Jay and Silent Bob. Holy shitballs.
