Guest Post: Don’t hate, but love your shape

Majority of the fans that make up our love and fanaticism for boybands is mainly composed of females.  Granted, there are male fans but are hiding it away as the adage goes.

Why?  Closet fans.

But this write up is not about gender but more on loving your body image, to love yourself first before you can love others.

Ever had yourself feeling so low because others are hating on you and calling you names by saying nasty things like:  Fat.  Ugly.  Pig.  Imagine, a tattooed, bulging with muscles big guy said it loud and clear in my ear while tauntingly stalking me right behind my ass.  Thinking:  I am?  Aren’t ya the male chauvinist pig for calling me like that?!  Trust me, I’ve been called worst in my life by people who make it loudly enough for me to hear within earshot.  They fire it away with much hatred, like “What the hell did I ever to you, huh?”  And then there are those who throw dagger looks at me, like:  “Hello?!  What are you, HILO?!”  I just laugh it off.  But, admittedly, at times it is hard to disregard it nor ignore it especially when they keep attacking you at all sides.  You just sigh.  You swear under your breath:  !@#$(*#@!(%*

Women artists have long spoken of loving yourself.  Do not ever let anybody smack you down just because they are big people.  Big?  In the sense that they have money talks and all that bahgeewheeze or even taller.

Build that self-esteem and don’t ever let anybody make you feel like you are inferior to them just because they are giants.

Here goes, a little review to give yourself a lift when you are feeling down in the dumps.

“I was told I was beautiful but what does that mean to you?

But if you can’t look inside you, find out who am I too

Be in the position to make me feel so damn unpretty”

“Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood

Miss ‘No Way, It’s All Good’ :  It didn’t slow me down

Mistaken, always second guessing, underestimated

“But she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts

She wears high heels, I wear sneakers”

“So I’m putting my defenses up

When will you realize, baby, I”m not like the rest”

“If I were a boy, I think I could understand

How it feels to love a girl

I swear, I’d be a better man”

“What you need is a big, strong hand

To lift you to your higher ground”

“All I know, time will heal it, I will be okay

I’m gonna smile because I deserve to”

“To be myself and to make my family proud

Must there be a secret me I am forced to hide”
