It would be typical for “Boy Band” fans to say the only reason we, Backstreet Boys fans, are glued to the show is because of Nick Carter, Mr. Architect. True – Partially or in whole. But, as the BSB Army, we long to see the fangirling continue with the coming generations. Whether you have a daughter or a younger sister, or a niece that was infatuated with 1D, or a neighbor who listens to your non-stop BSB playlist, we also have the innate desire to hear a new group of singers we would want them to be loyal to.
Artists, themselves, admit they would not have longevity in their careers if not for the fans.
Loyalty comes to the picture with that. We stay loyal to them. We would not want the new boy band fans to have just a “fling” and after a few hits, they find something else to tickle their fancy. No. As the older generation of BoyBand fans, we want them to be loyal enough to wait patiently in long lines just to meet and greet their favorite musicians. We want them to have as much patience to camp out just to snag the most wanted concert tickets. We want them to have the endurance to travel, no matter how far, just to see their BoyBand dream for that once in a lifetime experience. We would love the new fans to support and watch their favorites appear in TV shows and radio gigs with signs saying “I love you” and mean it. We need them to have that courage to say they are a fan and proud of it.

As forebearers of the BSB Army, it is in our hands to make sure the fangirling lives on.
Hopefully, the newest next boy band will turn out to be a great family of brothers who share the same passion and love for music and the fans. Cast your votes. Let it be counted that you get to save that boy with a deserving place to be a member of the next great boy band.
Sure, we would want to have that ideal dream team as the Backstreet Boys, but gently remind the boy band fans it is not just about the looks. We are just lucky enough that BSB are quite, alright, majorly easy and a whole lot pleasing, on the eyes. But, the Backstreet Boys did not make it this far long in the music industry without their amazingly crazy talent. Our boys have the vocal chops to hitting those unbelievable high notes that it makes you cry. They have the angelic voices to soothe us and calm us, simply to make us feel so darn good!
Their voices blend so well together as a real and authentic harmony group, you would think and honestly believe they were destined to be together. No matter how challenging the dance choreography is, the Backstreet Boys always deliver and dance their asses off on the dance floors and concert stages. Talent. We cannot reiterate enough that pure talent is what brought the Backstreet Boys this far to celebrating in 2018 their 25 years in the music industry. In a fickle-minded business, not every artist gets to have that in their career.
As much as the “Boy Band” hopefuls have that dream in making it to the entertainment world, we also have that dream for them to be successful and happy with their chosen path. We watch, not only as BSB and Nick Carter fans, but because we also have that longingness to witness the history in the making of the next great boy band. They may not be the next Backstreet Boys but that is exactly what the show is about, for these young hopefuls to have their own identity.
We would not want somebody who people say looks like Nick, but cannot carry a tune. We cannot have a bad boy image who does not want to be part of a group. We do not want to see a Howie D imitation. We cannot have somebody who only acts like a big brother but is just there on the look out for himself. These BoyBand hopefuls might, in one way or another, remind us of our Backstreet Boys because of some qualities, but they are treading their own roads. We want them to be just as they are with their special character and certain personalities. We have already become instant fans of these boys. Most of all, we wish for the next great boy band to have longevity as much as we hope for loyalty as well in their fan base. Let us be cheerers, instead of bashers, to seeing and hearing the next great boy band come to life and grow as a strong family of brotherhood right before our very own eyes.
