Thoughts: This might be the best. cruise. ever. So what’s with the complaining?

Scenes from the 2016 Backstreet Boys European Cruise.

Since Thursday’s announcement of the second Backstreet Boys theme – ’90s night – I’ve seen a lot of complaining on Twitter and on other social media. [AdSense-A] Some might have been in other languages, but I copy and pasted it into a translator to see what all was being said.

As I posted last night, there seems to be a lot of confusion about the two theme nights where people think both are ’90s and THEY. ARE. NOT.

Nope. Not. At. All.

HIGH SCHOOL NIGHT is where people dress like you did in high school if you were a nerd, a geek, a cheerleader, a goth person, slacker, pot head, football player, basketball player, athlete, preppy, etc.

Nothing about that says 1990s. Maybe you’re thinking of movies like “She’s All That” or “Clueless” which inhabits the different high school cliques. These cliques were around LONG before the 1990s and have been around since then.

‘90s NIGHT is where we dress to impress like it’s the 1990s. Hell, to be honest, a lot of things from the ‘90s are back in style right now – chockers, baby doll dresses, chunky shoes and didn’t Kevin say that baggy pants for guys were coming back?

There is SO much you can do for the ‘90s party.

[AdSense-A] • Britney Spears
• Spice Girls
• Kelly Kapowski (“Saved By The Bell”)
• Clueless
• “Friends”
• Mariah Carey
• Jim Carey from “Ace Ventura”
• Pulp Fiction
• Jennifer Love Hewitt.
And you don’t even have to dress as a person. Dress as a Beanie Baby or a Furbee. Dress like Windows ’95.

You know what else is very ‘90s?

THE BACKSTREET BOYS!

If you were one of the first fans, dig out that merchandise and FANGIRL IT THE HELL UP, my peeps!

So again … the themes are not the same. It’s what you MAKE IT TO BE.
And you know what you should make it to be?

F. U. N.

I mean, Jesus take the wheel, you are on a boat in the middle of the ocean with the five hottest, flyest white guys to ever step on this Earth, it’s about living your best life and having fun. Think about the people who would KILL to be on this boat. And I’m not talking about the people who can’t afford the cruise, but the people who can, but can’t get on the boat because it’s sold out.

Plus, did you ever think about the significance of these themes? It’s the guys 25th anniversary … high school, where most of their fans were when their first few albums came out and the ‘90s – when “the group” was born.

This cruise is celebrating 25 years together. Let’s stop the complaining, get out our butterfly clips and thick-rimmed glasses or marching band uniforms and have a good time!

You have 97 days from today to prepare for this. We have two more themes.

Get ready to have the time of your liiiiiives!
